Published Review of Cartel Land

I have read a couple of published reviews of Cartel Land. For the most part, everyone has the same opinion that the situation is cruel and that this cannot go on like this. What separates the reviews from my reflective writing, is that most of the reviewers make fun of Tim Foley. They say that he is acting like an overaged child playing the army at the border. In my opinion shows a lack of respect since and I don't share that opinion. Especially because the publishers are from the USA they should be happy that at least someone is doing something when the government fails to act.

Cartel Land

I chose the documentary 'Cartel Land'. It examines the state of the ongoing drug problem along the U.S-Mexican border. 1. The scene which moved me the most was right at the beginning where a woman shared the story of what happened to her and her family. The whole family worked at a lime farm. The owner was forced to pay money to the cartel. Because he was not able to pay the money the cartel killed 14 members of her family including her husband and her underaged kids. The feeling i felt were mixed up. On the one hand, I felt pure anger because she explained that they took babies by their feet and hit them against the wall until they died. On the other hand, I was shocked and felt terrible. I can not even imagine that one single person gets killed on purpose. DACA

As the title of this post already says, this post is about saving DACA. I support it because I know most of the reasons why foreign people want to stay in the U.S. They want to accomplish a new life for them as well as for their kids and everybody should have the right to live a life without having fear every day. We live in wealthy circumstances so we should be proud of that and try to give other people the same standards as us. Also, I think that DACA should be defended because you cannot just send people back to ''their'' country when they lived here for their whole lives. Just because someone does not have American papers it does not mean that he is still American. #DefendDACA

The Beginning Of Something New

My favorite quote has its origins in the song 'life', from the artist Tobu. It states that 'everything changes'. Throughout the last year, I am able to say that this quote is part of my life because nearly everything changed.  Since last year I have been through much changes. When I was in High School in Germany, everything seemed so constant for me. I had my decent soccer-career, a small group of friends, a girlfriend and lived with my parents. When I graduated, it seemed like everything was falling apart. I moved into the USA, leaving the country, my friends, family and girlfriend behind me. I was very sad at first, but then I realized the process of change is part of life. It took me a while to understand that you always have to accept the facts and enjoy the moment because life is too short to worry about such things.
